Leia in Boushh disguise (my favorite) |
Gamorrean Guard (Great detail... was surprised by how great the back looks) |
Bib Fortuna (Love the sinister grin... had forgotten that he is Twi'Lek like the dancer) |
Twi'Lek Dancer (Great detail... would love to see fellow Twi'lek Aayla Secura in another set) |
Han Solo with Carbonite (Love this! Minifigure can actually fit onto back of Carbonite by snapping his hands onto pegs) |
Salacious B. Crumb (Tiny little guy. Still in sealed bag in photo) |
Chewbacca (I think its time for a Chewie sculpt update) |
B'omarr Monk (actual monks... Rather the brains of monks are placed in the containers) |
Jabba the Hutt (shown in original packaging) |
Exterior Views of Jabba's Palace from LEGO set 9516 |
I had to borrow the above photo from
this link . Structure is a great build. LEGO actually released an additional set with a Rancor that is made to fit underneath the palace so that figures can fall through into the pit.
I was very disappointed to hear that it will be retired in 2014.Some say that there were complaints that the palace resembles Istanbul's Hagia Sophia
(source) . This is seen as bad because it is the headquarters of a villain. I wish that someone had pointed out that
sources indicate that Jabba's Palace was actually a B'Omarr Monastery that was invaded and used by crimelords (one being Jabba the Hutt). The monastery was later reclaimed by the monks.
